Not because you can't find a job but because you can't afford daycare for your child with special needs. There are more than 20,000 children with special needs in the four-county areas (Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, and Calumet).
That equates to approximately 10,000 parents.
State law mandates the staff-to-child ratio in a daycare. The PVHMF helps by supporting the daycare with specialized education and equipment for staff and assuring the staff-to-child ratio is appropriate.
The Paul Van Handel Memorial Foundation helps these parents return to the workforce by helping them afford quality daycare for their children with special needs.
“The Paul Van Handel Memorial Foundation helped our family this past summer by providing financial assistance to help with the care of our daughter with special needs. Joyce is wonderful to work with and so understanding. Thank you for all your help!”

Our Mission is to raise the funds necessary to support the daycare and empower the parents of children with disabilities to enter the workforce.
Our Vision is to make it possible for every parent of children with disabilities living in Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, and Calumet counties to work.
The Paul Van Handel Memorial Foundation was founded by Paul's three sisters in honor of their deceased brother.
Paul had a love for those in need, especially children with special needs. This foundation was created as a lasting testament to him and to keep his generosity alive.
