Imagine being out of work because daycares cannot meet the requirements of children with disabilities without support.
Not because you can’t find a job but because you can’t afford daycare for your child with disabilities. There are more than 20,000 children with disabilities in the 4 county area (Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, and Calumet).
That equates to approximately 10,000 parents.
State law mandates the staff-to-child ratio in a daycare. The PVHMF helps by supporting the daycare with specialized education and equipment for staff and assuring the staff-to-child ratio is appropriate.
The Paul Van Handel Memorial Foundation helps these parents return to the workforce by helping them afford quality daycare for their children with disabilities.
“The Paul Van Handel Memorial Foundation helped our family this past summer by providing financial assistance to help with the care of our daughter with special needs. Joyce is wonderful to work with and so understanding. Thank you for all your help!”
